About me


Hannah is a curious and empathetic documentary filmmaker, a self-shooting director from London, they graduated from the National Film & Television School (UK), with an MA in Directing Documentary. Over the past few years, they have made documentaries for UK Broadcasters, including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, and Channel 5.

Selected credits include: BAFTA-winning  Ellie Simmonds: Finding My Secret Family on ITV1, Ellie Simmonds: A World Without Dwarfism? A primetime BBC1 documentary about British Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, Kathy Burke: Age A 2-part documentary for Channel 4, 1928: The Year the Thames Flooded for a 90-minute documentary for Channel 5, and Miriam’s Dickensian Christmas. A Channel 4 Christmas documentary.

Hannah has also made several short documentaries about numerous subjects including religion and sexuality, belonging and community, gentrification, alcoholism, and sexual abuse.

They have been screened at numerous festivals globally including Sheffield DocFest, Kendal Mountain Festival, Jerusalem International Film Festival, and UK Jewish Film Festival, and have been nominated for Best Documentary, at the Royal Television Society Student Television Awards 2022 for Last Orders.

Their passion for making documentaries stems from an intense curiosity about and empathy towards people, what makes them tick, and the desire to find out how their communities function.
