ABOUT ME

Hannah Skolnick is a documentary filmmaker from London. In 2021, she graduated from the National Film & Television School (UK) with an MA in Directing Documentary. Since then, she has created impactful documentary films for UK broadcasters, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5. Her films have been showcased at festivals worldwide, including the renowned Sheffield DocFest, Kendal Mountain Festival, and the UK Jewish Film Festival. Notably, her film Last Orders was nominated for Best Documentary at the Royal Television Society Student Television Awards 2022.

The Festive  is a time capsule. In a pocket of white, working-class London, we watch  the day-to-day struggles of a community of drinkers slowly being squeezed out of their area by changes in society.

A survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Yehudis Fletcher counsels women in her own Ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. The darkness  is offset by the light of her young children, who she is raising as a  single mother within the community.
